news & small corrections

19 october / the scan is up

The clarinet part is finally in the music folder. A copy for Lukas, and for anyone else who would like to sit in. There's a rehearsal playback in the room next door.

PS. Whoever returned the black pencil: thank you. It was the good one.

12 october / kettle situation resolved

The switch needs a little encouragement. Please don't hold the lid down with sheet music again.

about the practice

We started because the hall was empty on Wednesdays. Nobody wanted to call it a band until we could all finish the same piece at the same time.

We still call it practice. There are spare chairs, a clarinet case under the table, and room for someone who hasn't played in a while.

We like the bit before a song starts: pages turning, a chair scraping, everyone finding the same breath.

notes from the last rehearsal

  1. Tune before telling the long version of the story.
  2. Leave enough room for the person beside you.
  3. The repeat is intentional this time.
  4. Stack the chairs in sixes. Keep one out for the person putting everything away.

in the margin: that last run sounded like a song.
